Basketmouth and Buchi "Exposed" By The Gbagaun Police Force

Now I know how hard it is when a policeman has to investigate his friend or family member for breaking the law. This is because the "culprits" behind this production are friends to the Gbagaun Police Chief.

When I first came across the video “BasketMouth’s Girlfriend Exposed” via BBM, I was blown away by Buchi’s countenance when he was threatened by Basketmouth especially the way he held his chest like someone about to have a heart attack. “Spare my life”, he barely blurted out. I had a good laugh.

But like you know, which is why you always look forward to our next detective job, we are not all about the laughter or the grammar. We correct the errors made by these talented and some not so talented entertainers.

THE STORY

Basketmouth arrives in his house unannounced to find the path to his room littered with male and female clothes and underwear. He is immediately thrown into misery as that suggested his girlfriend whom he left at home had a marathon pre sex session with another man before making it into their room

Basketmouth gets to the doors and reluctantly badges in to meet Buchi romping his girlfriend. The betrayed boyfried threatens to kill Buchi. However the tension was shortlived as Buchi offers him a bag filled with dollars just to spare his life.

Basketmouth immediately changed tone and became hospitable towards Buchi. Buchi refuses all his offers and asks to leave instead.

Fast forward a few minutes later and Buchi is safe on the road. He makes a call which reveals that he had hustled Basketmouth with fake dollars.

The room basketmouth approached is not the same room he opened. This is normally done in film making provided you can escape with it without your viewers knowledge. In this case, the pink wall in the background after opening the door drew our attention to the goof.

Bovi's Diamond Bank Advert Busted By The Gbagaun Police

The Gbagaun Police have been busy with some serious detective work and we are putting up the mugshot of a goofing culprit today. Guess who we caught dropping an advert, trying so hard to make it funny but ending up with several GOOOFFFFFS? Bovi in the new diamond bank advert.

You may have caught it on TV but incase you haven't, continue to watch it below.

If I had to ring a bell for the gbagauns in this advert, y’all be having an headache when you are done reading.

The bank down the road, by the……?  Yeah right. The question should have been;  the Bovi diamond advert, on the……?

Let’s get straight to the story and the plenty goofing.

THE STORY.

A man is about to make payment in a store using his cheque book. The cashier or a friend(I am not sure of his role) asks him to go ahead and write the cheque. The man complains about the bank charges for the cheque service. Bovi comes in and asks if it is the bank down the road, by the….. The man and cashier/friend replies that he is correct. Bovi introduces them to Diamond Bank as a better option that will give them better services. Bovi brings out the bank’s cheque book and drops it with them. Bovi walks off.

The next scene shows a woman seated in a restaurant and on a phone call. She is complaining about her inability to get a loan from her bank. Bovi serves her food and sits opposite her. She is startled by him. He asks if it is the bank down the road, by the….. She replies affirming with a nod. He introduces her to Diamond bank as a bank where granting of loans is simple. He gives her the bank’s envelope and leaves.

Final scene shows Bovi pretending to be an office cleaner dressed in suit. He sneaks into a worker’s office. The man closes his laptop after an unsuccessful attempt to do an online banking transaction. Bovi is seated opposite him.  The man is startled by his presence. Again, Bovi asks if it is the bank down the road, by the…… The man also confirms his guess. He introduces him to Diamond bank by saying if he cannot bank anywhere, anytime, he need a new bank. He then hands over his(Bovi’s) ATM to the man. Bovi leaves.

THE GBAGAUNS.

Oh my God. If only Honourable Patrick Obahiagbon can help with some grammatical huhu haha to dissect the tabon tabon of this advert infinitum? LOL. 

Who wrote this script? Who directed this piece? I am sorry. In as much as I understand they wanted to take advantage of the humour a comedian like Bovi brings to the table, they should at least write a script that can be defended as coherent and realistic. Other than that, why not just make your work purely fictional like indomitables. If you want your advert to reflect every day living, then it has to make every day sense. Not when you are trying to put other banks below your as per rating should you goof like this.

I am sure by now, some of our dear readers would have picked out the goofs and gbagauns but let me highlight a few.

Gbagaun 1

Bovi wore three different outfits, one for each of the location. This signifies that each scene was probably different days at different neighborhoods. How come the bank remained down the road, by the………..? Did the bank keep moving to every road Bovi went? Or did he keep coming back to the same road daily to haunt the same bank, same branch?

Naija FM's Mad Man Jingle

I am an ardent lover of Naija FM 102.7 because of the way they discuss issues with so juch humour and comedy. No matter how serious an issue is, naija fm's presenters will make you laugh before the show is over. So it is only normal that they should be the first to be featured on this blog. There is a skit that has been running for a while now on the station.

THE STORY

A man is led by some people to see the psychiatrist/doctor. On getting there, the man quickly tells the doctor that he is not mad. The mad man claims that the persons who brought him insist he is mad but he has told them over and over that he is not mad.

The doctor listens and asks if the mad man can convince him that he is not mad. The mad man agrees that the doctor should test him. The doctor asks some question concluding by asking him what a noun is. To the uttermost shock of the doctor, the mad man  gave perfect answers to all the questions.

The doctor certifies him okay and the mad man was excited accusing the people that brought him as the mad ones. He then tells the doctor that all the answers he gave came from the kidney while pointing to his head. The doctor asks him why he is pointing to his head but he insists that what he is pointing at is his kidney. Immediately the doctor changed his mind and concluded that he is indeed mad.

The man got angry and insisted the doctor is mad. They exchanged words and the doctor shouted for the security to come and get man out of his office.

The acting was well delivered and actually funny. I enjoy it every single time it is played.

Gbagaun is slang used to denote an error made by a person in spoken or written English. However, it is used on this site to denote errors made in creative works and content being broadcasted.
